This figure is the second of a series of beach scenes where I tried to achieve a style closer to costumbrism and apply it to miniature painting. These scene portraits a beautiful woman relaxing in the beach on a sunny day.
The Weather
This figure is ambiented in a sunny day in the beach. It is the counterpart of the other figure in the series, representing a rainy day in the same location. For this version I used warmer tones for the sand and the skintone and added some details that represent confort and heat to the original sculpture such as the hat, the towel bright or the book.
The other figure from the series is the same person in the same beach but in a different ambiance. She is staring at the sky while the first drops of a summer afternoon rain start to fall. The gesture of the woman, the slight amount of drops and the recently built sandcastle represent the transience of such summer storms.
