This was the first nude figure I painted and I wanted to experiment with skintone variations and imperfections. It is a semi-flat figure, which helps to convey a more illustrative style.
The Skin
I started by painting the skin of the figure in colder tones and then shifted to a warmer skintone. I added a blue OSL, exagerating the effect of the water reflection to make the figure stand out form the flat surface even more.
The Water
I wanted to try to paint the water effect and reflections without using resin. I started with a rough sketch and then added detail as the water was closer to the skin.
